1.1 Introduction: About the Course
- Your progress:
Welcome to a complete course on how to create a stunning website with WordPress and the Divi theme – step by step. Whether you are a complete beginner or if you have been using WordPress for a while, I am convinced that you will benefit a lot from this free course.
As a case, we will create a demo website for the fictional architectural firm Divi Crib. And this is not a “jerry-building” with a ready-made template that thousands of other companies already use; here you will learn how to create your very own unique layout – the way you want it. If you want to see the end result, the live demo website is available at divicrib.com.
All links, files and code snippets mentioned in the chapter is available below. 👉
Tnis is a step-by-step tutorial on creating a stunning website with WordPress. The tutorial is suitable for beginners and more advanced users. The instructor, Victor, the founder of victorduse.com, shares his experience from designing websites since the ’90s to discovering WordPress in 2005.
In this tutorial, viewers will learn how to create a website for a fictitious company called “The Divi Crib” from scratch, without using standard templates. They will use WordPress, the platform behind over 40% of websites, and the popular WordPress theme, Divi, known for its visual page builder.
The tutorial is divided into chapters, and the first chapter outlines the following steps:
- Registering a domain and web hosting account for the website.
- Installing WordPress and the Divi theme.
- Creating stunning design and content for the website, including a global header, navigation, blog posts, testimonials, call-to-action areas, client logos, and more.
- Ensuring mobile optimization and full responsiveness.
- Exploring different pages such as the About Us page, News/Blog page, category pages, and a Contact Us page.
- Demonstrating how to create templates for various pages and content using the Divi theme builder.
- Incorporating features like a dynamic current year in the footer and Google reCAPTCHA to protect forms from spam.
- Building a 404 error page for the website.
The tutorial aims to teach viewers how to create an impressive website using WordPress and the Divi theme, emphasizing hands-on learning throughout the process.

My word. I watched the 6 + hour YouTube video and thought that was amazing. But this is just next level. THANK YOU SO MUCH. 🙂
I have had Divi Lifetime since 2017 and never done anything with it, as I didn’t do my homework to find out how to use it. But you have just made it so simple and built my confidence immensely. Maybe I can do this.
Thanks again.
Wow, that’s really inspiring to hear Kristin! I wish you the best of luck and feel free to drop a link if (when) your website is up and running! 🙂

Thanks Mohammed, I’m glad you liked it! 👉

What tool you’re using to create this course apart from divi theme?
Hi Suraj! Just WordPress and Divi on Siteground hosting (but you can use any WordPress compatible hosting). No other paid tools needed.
Thank you for responding Victor. What I’m asking is how did you create this course layout and functionality? Are you using any LMS tool or it’s just divi with modules?
I’m looking to create something like this for my client. And I would appreciate some guidance on what you used.
Thanks Victor.
Ah sorry, I misunderstood. I’m only using Divi modules + a couple of modules from Divi Supreme Pro (floating images, vertical menu, buttons etc.) + some custom CSS and jQuery for the course section. There are no CPTs or query loops involved so everything is rather static but it works fine for this specific project.
Thank you, Victor for the most comprehensive and, more importantly, easy to follow tutorial. I wouldn’t have been able to create and get my site live without it.
Brilliant work. Thank you, again.
Thanks for your kind words Sue, I’m really glad to hear that. Best of luck with your new website! 🙂
