The Divi 5 Changelog lets you know all about the official theme updates from Elegant Themes. Divi 5 is now in the public alpha phase and new updates are released every other week.

Divi 5 Release Date
Divi 5 is being rolled out in five major phases, and we are currently in Phase 3: Divi 5 Public Alpha. Below is the full Divi 5 roadmap, outlining each release milestone.
November 10, 2022: Divi 5 Official Announcement
Although there had been speculation about a complete rebuild of Divi’s core, the official announcement came on November 10, 2022, in the blog post Let’s Talk About Divi 5.0 And The Future Of Divi.
Elegant Themes CEO Nick Roach described Divi 5 as a “foundational update focused on performance, stability, scalability, and extendability.” He also introduced a new API aimed at helping both the Elegant Themes team and third-party developers build features faster and with fewer bugs.
March 7, 2023: Divi 5 Developer Alpha Release
The first official Divi 5 release was the Developer Alpha, made available only to third-party developers. In the blog post Announcing Divi 5 Dev Alpha, Roach explained that this version featured an “almost complete API” and a “moderate selection of Divi’s core features.”
August 22, 2023: Divi 5 Developer Beta Release
A few months later, Elegant Themes introduced Divi 5 Developer Beta. Like the Developer Alpha, this version was also limited to third-party developers.
December 20, 2023: The New Divi 5 Interface is Revealed
Just before Christmas, Elegant Themes surprised the community by announcing a completely new Divi 5 interface.
May 1, 2024: Divi 5 Demo Goes Live
Although Divi 5 was not yet available for download, Elegant Themes launched a public demo, allowing users to test the new interface.
The Divi 5 demo site continues to be updated with the latest public version.
September 30, 2024: Divi 5 Public Alpha Release
More than two years after its initial announcement, Divi 5 was finally made available to all Divi members with the Divi 5 Public Alpha.
It is available from the Divi member account page for all active Divi members.
January 7, 2025: New Features Introduced, Others Removed
Elegant Themes made another unexpected announcement: the Divi 5 Feature Swap. This update later introduced:
- Customizable Responsive Breakpoints
- Class-Based Design With Option Presets
- Advanced CSS Units, Design Variables, and Flexbox
Meanwhile, less popular features like Quick Actions and Extend Styles were removed.
Divi 5 Public Beta – Coming Soon
The next phase, Divi 5 Public Beta, is expected to include all planned features, including WooCommerce modules.
Elegant Themes has not provided a release date but stated:
Divi 5 Official Release
The final Divi 5 release (Phase 5) will allow users to upgrade from Divi 4 to Divi 5 directly from the WordPress dashboard. Existing Divi 4 websites should migrate safely, and third-party developers are expected to have updated their plugins and child themes.
When Will Divi 5 Be Officially Released?
Elegant Themes has not confirmed a final release date. However, based on the Divi 5 Changelog, a Q4 2025 or Q1 2026 release seems realistic.
Final Thoughts
The Divi 5 roadmap has been a long journey, with multiple alpha and beta phases focusing on performance, stability, and a stronger foundation. While the final release is still pending, Divi 5 Public Beta will be the first full-featured version of Divi 5.
