4.5 Divi Theme Customizer (settings)

  • Your progress:

The next step takes us to the Divi Theme Customizer, where we’ll configure more settings. To access it, navigate to “Divi” and select “Theme Customizer.” Here, you’ll find a preview of your website, which might not look very exciting at the moment. It displays the Divi logo by default, indicating it’s created with Divi.

Let’s start with some essential settings:

  1. Under “General Settings,” choose “Site Identity.” Here, you can set the site title and tagline. These are crucial for SEO, so ensure they include relevant keywords and your brand name. For instance, your title could be “Divicrib,” and the tagline might be “A Beautiful Website for Everyone.”
  2. Don’t forget the site icon, often overlooked but important. It appears in the browser tab to the left of the site title. Upload an icon that’s at least 512×512 pixels in size. If you need images and media files for this course, you can download them from the video description below. Select the “favicon.png” image, and it should display as your site icon. If it’s already square and 512×512 pixels, you can choose to skip cropping.
  3. For “Layout Settings” and “Typography,” there’s no need to make changes. We’ll manage the design using the Divi Visual Builder and global defaults.
  4. Similar to the header navigation and footer, we’ll create these components in the Theme Builder, a more modern approach.
  5. Buttons will also be created with the Divi Visual Builder, and we’ll handle blog templates in the Theme Builder.
  6. Mobile styles will be configured directly in the Visual Builder, so no need to address them here.
  7. You won’t need to set color schemes, menus, widgets, or homepage settings for now.
  8. Lastly, in “Additional CSS,” you can add custom CSS if you have coding skills and specific design preferences.

These are the key aspects of Divi’s Theme Customizer that you should be aware of as you continue to customize your website.
